What is Self-Care? Self-Care is being able to recognize that it is okay to make yourself a priority. It is taking care of your physical, intellectual, social, spiritual and emotional needs. Self-Care isn’t always easy or makes it to your list of top priorities, but why is that? Is it because of everyday life demands, stressful jobs, or because you feel “guilty” to do something for yourself? Self-Care isn’t a selfish act but a conscious effort to stay healthy, happy and true to self. It is an active process where you take time to gain insight and knowledge about yourself to promote growth and wellness.
